Dermatologists prevent skin cancer
We were honored to have helped coordiante the initiation of the Skin Cancer Foundation's 2012 Road To Healthy Skin tour with a first stop in Raleigh. The tour will be continuing nation-wide through the year.On March 19 Dr Trakimas, her nursing staff, and several of her colleage dermatologist's from the area; Drs Ray Gammon, Tamara Houseman, Rebecca Oyler, & David Tart vollunteered their time to offer free skin cancer screenings.
Seventy people were screened that day. Nine skin cancers were detected including three likely melanomas (the most serious type) and in addtion 10 cases of pre-cancerous lesions were found!
